An Introduction to Programming!

Hello! Welcome to the Creative Coding Program in Python.

Karan here! I am excited to have you as a part of the course and look forward to making this a fun and creative learning experience for you.

Who is this course for?

This is a course for complete beginners. I will be assuming that you have no experience to programming, whatsoever. Obviously, you know that it’s how people build software, apps, games or automate tasks, or it helps with bigger things like self-driving cars, robots and performing high-speed analysis to make decisions based on that. Probably, you also that know that we can write some code in different languages to make all of this happen.

But that’s about it. I will be assuming that you know no more. That you haven’t written any code before or don’t remember much of it.

Does that mean that you won’t be learning anything interesting? Not at all. Neither does it mean that it’s going to be super easy. You will build some interesting projects like creating art and a simple game. You will also learn fundamental ways of thinking and problem solving which sometimes even expert programmers miss out on. In fact, doing and creating things with a beginner’s mind is the most fulfilling learning experience.

We’ll have a total of 6 live sessions over 3 weeks for this Module. (and 3 optional sessions to explore and build your ideas or solve doubts). For the current group, there were 2 different time slots offered. Considering the number of signups and assuming most people show up, I am going ahead with both the time slots.

Time Slot 1: Wednesdays and Saturdays : 7.30pm (Starting 16th June)

Time Slot 2: Saturdays and Sundays: 11:00 am (Starting 19th June)

You can join any of these, but try to stick to the one you choose. Any updates to the session timings will be posted here.

Please note that there is an update on the start dates as compared to the sign up form.

Coding Platform

We will be using Replit for all our coding challenges and projects.

Important: You will be receiving a link (the one which you used for signing up) with an invitation to join the team for this course. It is absolutely important that you join it before our 1st session.

Discussion Forum/Community

WhatsApp group:
We will be using it for some high level updates, like a reminder for the beginning of a class.

Discord Community:
We will use this primarily for sharing our creations, discussing doubts and ideas. If you haven’t used Discord before, don’t worry. You will just need to click on the link shared and sign up. You will a part of the community.
