Objectives :
- Students will be able to define prime numbers
- Find prime numbers upto 20, 50, 100 and 200 using sieve of Erosthenes.
Why ?
Prime numbers are the building blocks of all the whole numbers. This makes them special. Mathematically, they become useful in factorization, which is further used in a lot of places. But the beauty is not in the usability but in the numbers, themselves.
Lesson :
It is a discovery based lesson, having a lot of questioning. Kids understand why the sieve method gives us the prime numbers and what does that procedure actually mean.
